What you'll do
Activate a finished form for orders and share its public URL, QR code, or responsive embed.
Steps
- Open Dashboard, choose Selling, find the form under My Forms, and choose Edit form.
- Choose Save changes and wait for it to succeed.
- Open Settings → Publishing and turn Form Status on when the form is ready to accept orders. If ordering should start later, save the schedule described below before activating.
- Open Publish → Share Link, review the public link, and click Copy.
- Open the copied link in a signed-out browser and complete a final buyer check before sharing it with customers.
To activate or deactivate a shared form, you need Co-owner access or a Custom role with Publish or close the form permission. If the builder asks you to save or discard changes before changing Form Status, finish that action first. The status change saves immediately; it does not publish other unfinished edits.
Changing the form's URL saves through the normal Save changes workflow. The entered URL is still an unpublished change until that save succeeds. Copy, sharing, the QR code, and embed code continue using the last published URL, including after resuming a draft. If another form change blocks Save, resolve the displayed issue before sharing the new URL.
If the notice says Choose a different form URL, that URL is already taken. Choose Review settings, enter a different custom URL in Security, and save again. Your unpublished work remains protected.
What buyers see
An active public form uses a URL such as ezformz.net/f/your-form-slug. An inactive form is unavailable and shows Form Not Found. An active form with a future open date can keep the link shareable while buyers see a countdown until ordering begins. A close date or reached submission limit shows Form Closed.
For an active, Public form with a usable saved header image, the large-media card uses that header, the form title by itself, and a short Powered by EZFormz. line. EZFormz does not append its name to the card title or advertise a separate Open Graph site-name line. The receiving app still controls typography and may add its own domain or site label. If the form has no usable public header image, EZFormz advertises no Open Graph or X/Twitter card and does not substitute EZFormz artwork.
Password-protected, invite-only, and inactive forms with a usable header still show that image but use generic preview text so gated details are not exposed before access. Without a usable header, they advertise no social card. The receiving app decides whether that becomes a plain link or a text-only preview. Messaging apps may also cache an older preview after you update a form; that cache belongs to the receiving platform and may clear only after time passes or the link is shared in a new conversation.
Sharing choices
- Link: open Publish → Share Link → Copy. Use the copied URL in messages, email, or social profiles.
- QR code: open Publish → QR Code, then choose Download PNG or Print. Use it on printed material or in-person displays.
- Embed: open Publish → Embed and choose Copy Code under iframe Embed Code. Paste it into your website's HTML. It keeps the form theme and includes a listener for EZFormz resize messages that adjusts the iframe height while checking the expected origin and frame.
- Direct-link button: in Publish → Embed, choose Copy Code under Direct Link Button. Paste it into your website's HTML for a styled link based on the form's button theme that opens the public form in a new tab.
- Email or social share: open Publish → Share, then choose Email, Facebook, X, or WhatsApp.
The responsive embed sends a message shaped as { source: 'ezformz', context: 'iframe.resize', height, slug }. If a site builder strips the listener script, the form can still load in the iframe but may stay at the fixed fallback height. Test the installed embed at phone and desktop widths on the destination site.
Activate, deactivate, and schedule the form
Turn Form Status on or off in Settings → Publishing, or use the On/Off control in Dashboard → Selling. An active form accepts orders subject to its access, schedule, stock, and submission rules. An inactive form is unavailable and shows Form Not Found; close dates and reached limits show Form Closed instead.
To announce a form before ordering starts, open Settings → Limits, turn Open Date on, and choose the date, time, and timezone. Choose Save changes and wait for success, then turn Form Status on in Settings → Publishing. Buyers see a countdown until the stored time; the page reloads when it reaches zero.
For an automatic end time, turn Close Date on in Settings → Limits, choose its date, time, and timezone, and choose Save changes. If both dates are set, the open time must be before the close time. A Close Date stops later submissions. Scheduling a shared form also requires permission for Slug, password, dates, limits, and edit-request settings. Always confirm the saved schedule from the signed-out public link.
If the public result is incomplete, return to Create your first order form, save the correction, and test the public link again.
Account restrictions
If an administrator restricts your account, a saved active form can be hidden or paused for new orders. Your dashboard shows that status. You can still sign in and work on existing orders under their usual settings. A block on new forms also prevents duplicating forms or accepting ownership transfers. Lifting a restriction restores availability according to each form’s saved settings. A full account ban is separate and continues to block sign-in until that ban is removed.
